The Aquinos' plight..

Now that "Noy" is way closer to his summit, my waiting during the election day for almost 4hrs. worth it all. I guess the good thing about him is that i found him to have NO self-vested interest for running in the presidency. But Aquino's fight is not yet over. The real challenge is still to come.

Politics is not just our leaders' plight..we all are taking part of everything that we have become accountable for in the making. We may just stop complaining which governance is better or worst. We may refrain from making our own prejudices because as human, we have never been content. And as a government, there has never been such a thing as "ideal".

But we can do our share instead.

mao na ni!

We were at the beach during the weekend. And as I was watching from a distance how people enjoyed the sea, I noticed this woman bringing an umbrella while dipping herself into the water. Perhaps, caring less with how might people around her react.

And so I SAID to myself, "mao na gyud ni ang epekto sa global warming bah.. and i won't be wondering at all, if years from now tanang mangaligo ug dagat, magpayong na.":D

i seldom hear mass early in the morning-- especially a 6AM mass.. in fact, i can only count from my fingers times that i tried to in a year. however, in most occasion, most lessons from the priest's sermon that i barely remember were those times when i got the chances to hear morning masses.

today, as i chance to attend early Sunday mass, the sermon of the priest brings such a wonderful lesson. he talks about being in a profession and of service, putting into example a doctor who's been feeling the frustration each time his patients would die. because of this, this doctor confronted his father who's, at the same time, a doctor.

the father's advice went like this:

"being in a profession, you need to have these aspects: you must know how to CARE, being the first..must know how to show COMPASSION.. must know how to COMMUNICATE and think of your COMPETENCE, being at your last. don't look at your patients as just mere specimen or objects that you need to cure.. but remember that they're humans too who may be needing your care, compassion, communication...so that at the end of it all, whether they have to go or not, you can build an in depth relationship with them. and that..sure thing they'll never forget."

..wish i could say more..for this is so true nowadays.
perhaps, it's because of the competition people feel at work. just one thing--i will never forget this lesson.

a very moving dog story...

just wanna share this one being a dog lover myself...

In 1924, Hachiko was brought to Tokyo by his owner Hidesaburo Ueno, a professor in the agriculture department at the University of Tokyo. The bond between Hachiko and Mr. Ueno can only be described as unbreakable...

The two were inseparable and Hachiko even accompanied Mr. Ueno from his walk from home to the Shibuya train station where he would leave for work every single day. Hachiko would unfailingly return the train station at the end of each day to welcome his master home. But on May 1925 Professor Ueno suffered a stroke while he was at work and died soon after never to return to the train station...

Hachiko was waiting for his beloved master to return on that day as he always did before.
Soon after Mr. Ueno's death Hachiko was given away but he would escape every day to return to the train station to wait for his master. Day after day Hachiko returned to the train station until he eventually stopped leaving... Some people who had seen Hachiko with his master were so touched by his devotion they started bringing food to nourish him during his wait...The days turned to weeks... Months... Years...

After 10 years of waiting for his master at the train station Hachiko died with his gaze fixed upon the spot his master disappeared the very last time...Today a statue stands in the spot where Hachiko waited his entire life for his master's return.

hold..

Hold people like it's the last time you'll ever see them.
And when they go, don't make reasons for them to stay..

...make reasons for them to return.
